Artist's Statement
My art is a celebration of light and the dreams it inspires. I have always been drawn to light as a symbol of faith and a guide through darkness and trouble. It is amazing how light, shining in different ways on a landscape, can so greatly influence perception. Areas once seen as ugly become beautiful; things that were worn and scarred become glorious. Light has the power to reveal the infinite color and beauty in all things.
This power of light is more than just a sensory experience; it foreshadows the way the eternal light of heaven will one day reveal beauty in all. There are special times when the light from heaven touches things in just the right way, enabling us to see and understand things we might otherwise miss. Our very perception of the world is changed through light, symbolizing the nature of miracles. Light rejuvenates the spirit; its warmth teaches of love; its beauty teaches of mercy. What light speaks to us, lives in our dreams and flies in our imaginations. My art seeks to honor this light and the dreams that spring from its fountain.
